Quincy California is located in the heart of the Sierra Nevada Mountains making it a prime location for family camping trips. Starting out at a gold rush town, Quincy is now known as the place to go for camping, fishing, and site seeing.
Some of the more popular historic places to go in or near Quincy are the Plumas County Museum, the historic mining area across from the Quincy Visitors Center, the Western Pacific Railroad Museum, and the Plumas-Eureka State Park Museum. Nearby Taylorsville has the Indian Valley Museum, Chester has the Chester - Lake Almanor Museum and the Collins Pine Museum.
Quincy Fishing
The Quincy area also has some great fishing lakes. Nearby Bucks lake and Lower Bucks Lake are very popular. There are also several popular fishing streams nearby Quincy.
Feather River Canyon
The Feather River Canyon is also a popular recreational area near to Quincy California. Many campers like to make Pioneer RV park their home base and plan day hikes and fishing trips in the canyon area. There is also some great overlooks on the scenic highway giving travelers an opportunity to take some memorable pictures of this awe inspiring natural wonder.
High Sierra Music Festival
Not to be forgotten is the High Sierra Music Festival. This annual event happens toward the end of June. This four day event is a family favorite. Along with the music festival is a huge arts and crafts fair and food court with the main emphasis being on healthy organic foods including Vegan and Vegetarian foods as well as non-vegetarian foods.

Voted up and interesting. I live in the greater Sacramento metro area, but have never been to Quincy. I'll have to take a drive there one of these days. The Feather River Canyon sounds especially interesting.
